Such tragic scenarios can be warded off by the EATON UPS 5P 1550i Gen2 uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This is just another name for a battery reservoir that provides power for all devices that need electricity. The EATON UPS 5P 1550i Gen2 UPS battery backup uses the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is the simplest form if the electricity is interrupted, since it switches power to the UPS unit itself. The line interactive UPS also adds voltage regulation to prevent damage from electrical surges from the grid.

An important parameter is the UPS run time during outages. This is governed by the energy consumption – for example, at half-load (50%), the UPS power time can last up to three times as long. The load of the UPS governs the operating time, which at full load (100%) is 2 min and at a load of 50%, it's 11,6 min. It is therefore crucial to determine the energy consumption of the connected appliances and ideally to add some spare power left. The EATON UPS 5P 1550i Gen2 measures the apparent power as 1550, but in reality, the actual power usage is 1350 W.
