We would not wish it on our worst enemy. A power outage a few seconds before the entire file was saved. Almost all your work has vanished, and you have to start again from scratch. Such tragic scenarios can be averted by the EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack UPS. This hardware is practically a large battery that provides power for all types of computers and devices that need electricity to function. The EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack UPS battery backup features the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is seen as the simplest form in case of a black-out, since it switches to the internal battery for electric power. The line interactive UPS enhances the simpler off-line version of data line surge suppression to guard against dangerous surges and spikes.

The most important parameter is the UPS run time during outages. This is governed by the energy consumption – for example, at half-load (50%), the battery backup time lasts much longer. The load of the UPS defines the operating time, which at full load (100%) is 3,9 min and at half the energy consumption, it is 13,2 min. It is therefore crucial to calculate the power consumption of the connected computers, monitors and other electronics and ideally to have some extra power left. The EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack measures the apparent power as 850, but with realistic use, the actual power usage is 680 W.
