Intel Core i9-7980XE
Intel is a world-renowned company that does not need any special introduction. For many years, it has been one of the largest manufacturers of processor and chipsets in the world. Right now, it has launched the best desktop processors on the market, the performance of which is once again far better than previous ones. In essence, this is a server-based version that is designed for gaming applications. The Intel Core i9-7980XE processor is designed for motherboards equipped with the LGA 2066 socket and the upgraded Intel X299 chipset.
Key features of the Intel Core i9-7980XE processor
- Extreme performance brought to perfection
- Open multiplier for possible clocking
- 18 cores at high frequency up to 4.4 GHz
- New Turbo Boost Max 3.0 with overclocking of individual cores
- Supports DDR4 memory up to 2 666 MHz
- Advanced 14nm manufacturing process
- Designed for LGA 2066 socket and Intel X299 chipset
Skylake-X - Technology on the cutting edge
The Intel Core i9-7980XE processor offers 18 physical cores and is part of a new, modern X series. It uses a 14nm manufacturing process using the most advanced available technology. Each core runs at a basic frequency of 2.6 GHz with Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 4.4 GHz. As with the previous generation, the memory controller is integrated into the chip directly. It is a four-channel DDR4 memory controller that can now operate at a frequency of up to 2666 MHz. Additionally, the processor has an L3 cache with a capacity of 16.5 MB. Additionally, the processor has a cache with a capacity of 24.75 MB.
Turbo Boost Max 3.0
And because it is primarily a desktop processor, Intel comes with an advanced technology that pulls out the maximum performance from each processor. Turbo Boost Max 3.0 is able to test each core individually and choose the best. The upper-performance limit can even be a difference of 15% and it would be useless not to use it. The selected core will then continue to run at the maximum frequency at all times, and the system will use it as a priority.
