The TP-Link CPE610 Outdoor WiFi Access Point is a specialised device for long-distance wireless connections in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint modes. This 5GHz access point operates on the Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) standard and communicates at speeds of up to 300Mb/s. A key feature is its high-gain directional antenna with a gain of 23dBi. This combination focuses the wireless signal into a narrow beam with a width of 9° in azimuth and 7° in elevation, which improves directionality, reduces interference and contributes to a stable long-distance connection. It uses the proprietary Pharos MAXtream TDMA technology to optimise throughput, capacity and latency. To enhance communication efficiency, it uses 2×2 MIMO technology and the proprietary TDMA protocol with Pharos MAXtream.

Security and durability
To secure the wireless network, the device supports WEP (64/128/152-bit), WPA/WPA2, and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption in AES/TKIP modes. The network is protected by an SPI Firewall, DoS attack protection, and access control features. The IP65-rated construction is resistant to water and dust, and is complemented by 15kV electrostatic discharge protection and 6kV lightning protection.
Management and connectivity
You can manage the device using the free Pharos Control application for centralised management or via a web interface with HTTP/HTTPS support. An SSH server is also available for advanced users. Performance is provided by a Qualcomm MIPS 74Kc processor with a frequency of 560MHz, complemented by 64MB of DDR2 RAM and 8MB of Flash memory. For connectivity and power, there is a single shielded 10/100Mb/s Ethernet port. This port transmits both data and power via passive PoE in the 16–27V DC range. A 24V 0.5A passive PoE adapter is included in the package to power the device. The maximum power consumption is 7.41W.
