The Man with the Ring

Shadows of the Past in a White Coat

They say that more than half of all murders of women are committed by their partners. But in the case of the unusually brutal murder of a nurse from Kalnes hospital, all the evidence suggests that her partner is innocent this time, and a serial killer is on the loose. As time goes on, other facts come to light, pointing to an old, unsolved case of a young student in distant Volda – but is there a real connection between them, or is it just a dead end?

Besides, former police officer Anton Brekke has completely different worries – he's trying to keep his job at the hospital and not succumb to his old gambling addiction. When his former partner comes to ask for his advice, he has no motivation to get involved in the case. That changes, however, when one of his patients dies. Could her death also be related to the murders Magnus Torp is investigating?

But in uncovering old secrets, the former colleagues might easily stumble upon an adversary who is too powerful for them to handle.
