SMLIGHT SLZB-MR4U

SMLIGHT SLZB-MR4U
The SMLIGHT SLZB-MR4U bridge serves as a professional multiradio coordinator for controlling and ensuring stable communication between elements in your smart home. This network device connects wireless devices to control systems and eliminates the need for standard USB dongles. Thanks to its integrated 100Mb/s ethernet connection and support for PoE power, it guarantees reliable operation without interference from wireless networks in the 2.4GHz band, making it an ideal solution for installation in distribution boards or racks.
Key features of the SMLIGHT SLZB-MR4U bridge
- Four integrated radios ensure reliable communication
- Powered by standard PoE or a modern USB-C connector
- Two external 5dB antennas improve wireless signal coverage
- Fast 100Mb/s ethernet interface provides a stable network response
- USB Passthrough function enables remote connection of USB devices over LAN
- SLZB-OS operating system offers a web interface and local API for integration
- Zigbee Hub Mode support allows you to run local Berry scripts
Quad-radio architecture for a stable network
The device integrates four separate radio frequency interfaces equipped with CC2674P10 and EFR32MG26 chips, along with two ESP32-S3 processors for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This hardware configuration enables the concurrent operation of Zigbee and Thread protocols, creating a stable foundation for the modern Matter ecosystem. Two external 5dB antennas significantly extend the wireless signal range throughout the property and improve the connection quality for battery-powered sensors.
Reliable network connection
Unlike standard USB adapters, this device functions as a standalone network element with a 100Mb/s ethernet interface. The coordinator's placement in the house is not limited by the length of the USB cable to the server, which simplifies installation in distribution boards or racks. The ethernet connection delivers consistent latency and higher network availability compared to a wireless connection.
Advanced SLZB-OS operating system
The device runs on the SLZB-OS operating system, which offers a clear web interface for complete management and monitoring. Users have access to a local API, MQTT integration, detailed diagnostics, and system logs for quick troubleshooting. Firmware updates are conveniently handled via OTA technology without needing to physically disconnect the device from the network.
Remote USB over Ethernet
The USB Passthrough function allows you to transfer data from a connected USB device over the local LAN. You can connect other supported USB modules to the integrated USB-C port and make them accessible to a remote smart home server. This mode is particularly useful in large installations with a separate utility room.
Wide platform compatibility
The coordinator fully cooperates with popular open-source home automation platforms like Home Assistant. It supports Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, OpenThread Border Router, and ESPHome firmware integrations for your own custom projects. This gives users a universal and independent solution without being tied to a specific manufacturer of end devices.
Standalone operation in hub mode
With the integrated Zigbee Hub Mode and support for the Berry scripting language, the unit can execute local rules independently of the central server. This means automation scenarios remain functional even during maintenance or a restart of the main controller. This concept increases the overall resilience and security of the entire home infrastructure.
