The enemy of my enemy deserves a bullet just the same…
The Ruhar – a furry race of alien colonisers – attacked unexpectedly and with a technological superiority that even the United States Army couldn't match. But in one place, they hit a wall. And that the whole business with the Ruhar and the conquest of Earth may not be as straightforward as it first seemed…

Craig Alanson
Craig Alanson worked as an accountant, but by night he diligently wrote stories from deep space and magical worlds. In 2016, he published three novels at once (the sci-fi Columbus Day and SpecOps, and the fantasy Ascendant), and six months later he was making a living as a full-time writer. He expanded the action-packed space opera series Expeditionary Force into almost twenty volumes, many of which have topped the bestseller charts on Audible and in the New York Times.
