Lark & Belt

Hitman Lachlan Kane longs for a quiet life in his leather workshop and wants to forget the traumas of his past. But when he botches a job for his boss's most important client, he realises he will never escape the underworld. That is, until singer Lark Montague offers him a deal: help her find a murderer, and she will secure his freedom.

There's just one catch. He has to marry her first.

And a second catch: They can't stand each other.

Indie singer-songwriter Lark is a ray of sunshine, overcoming every cloud and penetrating every crevice Lachlan Kane tries to hide in.

Lachlan, the surly older brother of her best friend's soulmate, sees her as a privileged princess, but Lark hides many a secret in the shadow of her bright light. With her family in ruins and her best friend's happiness hanging by a thread, she's willing to vow herself to a man she's determined to hate, no matter how attractive the silent killer may be.

As Lachlan and Lark navigate the dark world together, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish what's fake and what's real in their marriage. But it's not just the dangers they are well aware of that haunt them.

A phantom hungry for revenge is also lurking.
