External drive performance
Using the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, this external SSD achieves read speeds of up to 1050MB/s and write speeds of up to 1000MB/s. This high performance dramatically shortens waiting times when transferring large files, such as RAW photos or source video files. It also allows you to edit and process content directly without needing to copy data to your computer's internal storage. This is crucial for a smooth workflow when editing video or retouching photos. Processing 4K video footage without any lag becomes the standard, not the exception. Transferring an hour of video or thousands of high-resolution images takes less than a minute, freeing up time for your creative work.
Advanced hardware data encryption
Sensitive projects and client data are protected by LaCie Secure technology, which uses AES-256 hardware encryption. Unlike software alternatives that load your computer's processor and can slow the system down, all encryption operations take place directly on the drive's hardware. This maintains the full performance for your work. Access to all content is password-protected, which effectively prevents unauthorised access to your files if the device is lost or stolen. This solution provides a reliable barrier to protect intellectual property and sensitive information, which is essential for professionals working with confidential material.
Durability and optimisation
The all-aluminium body provides protection against drops from up to three metres while keeping the weight at just 45g, making it easy to carry in any bag. In addition to being compatible with Windows and Mac systems, this encrypted external drive is fully adapted to the Apple ecosystem. For video creators with an iPhone 15 Pro, it brings a major workflow improvement, as it supports direct recording of Apple ProRes video in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. The footage is saved directly to the external drive, freeing up valuable space on the phone's internal storage. The files are then immediately ready for editing on a MacBook or iPad without lengthy copying.
