Frankie among people

Frankie has everything a cat could ever need: plenty of food, a soft bed, and a giant TV. The only thing missing is his human friend, Gold, whose stay in the 'loony bin' seems to be never-ending. During a night-time expedition, Frankie accidentally finds himself in the back of a rubbish truck, which carries him far away from everything he's ever known. While desperately searching for his way home, he meets a mysterious girl named Shatab: she's dirty, lonely, and, just like Frankie, a long way from home. Unlike him, however, she was forced to flee her homeland... And so begins their journey together through a land where they are both strangers, told with the insight of a streetwise cat – witty, sharp, and with a pinch of feline wisdom about the absurdities of the human world.
