The ultra-powerful Fenix LR40R V2.0 rechargeable flashlight delivers extreme light output of up to 15,000 lumens (ANSI) and a range of up to 900 meters. It achieves its performance with one premium Luminus SFT-70 LED and sixteen Lumileds HL2X LEDs, which are powered by an internal 54 Wh high-current Li-ion battery. The battery is charged directly in the flashlight via the modern USB-C connector. The flashlight is controlled by a rotary dial, which can be used to select between wide cone (up to 12000 lm) and main beam (up to 3000 lm), or a combination of the two (15000 lm combined). In addition, there is a strobe and SOS for emergency situations. The flashlight is equipped with five indicator LEDs that show the battery charge status. In addition, the flashlight can also be used as an emergency power bank to charge other USB devices.

The Fenix LR40R V2.0 flashlight has a proximity sensor function. The reflector automatically reduces the power to 50 lumens when the flashlight approaches an object to less than about 6-8 cm (prevents damage to the object by strong light and glare from reflected light). This function can be switched on/off by holding the centre button for at least 10 seconds with the torch unlocked.

The flashlight has a rotary dial that has four positions. Locked/off, where remote cone on, wide cone on and combination cone on. If the rotary selector is in the locked position, turn it to the appropriate mode to turn the flashlight on directly. The main reflector is on the lowest mode, the wide reflector and a combination of the two is on the last mode used. Short presses of the centre button cycles through the power modes of the respective reflectors. The strobe is switched on by holding the centre button for at least 1.2 seconds, another short press to switch to SOS and another press to return to the last selected steady light mode. If the rotary selector is not in the lock position, the lamp is switched off and on by holding the centre button for about 0.5 seconds.

Unclip the rubber cap of the charging connector and plug the cable into the USB-C connector on the flashlight. The indicator LEDs will flash from left to right to show the charging status. Once they are all lit, the flashlight is fully charged. During charging, only the wide cone can be switched on in the lowest mode of 100 lumens. When charging is complete, seal the connector tightly with the rubber cap. Not only regular USB adapters and power banks can be used for charging, but also fast charging adapters with QC2.0 and PD2.0 protocol will be automatically detected. Charging time is around 4 hours, depending on the strength of the power supply used.
