EATON UPS 9E 2000i Rack 2U

EATON UPS 9E 2000i Rack 2U
The EATON UPS 9E 2000i protects servers and network infrastructure. It uses online double-conversion topology, which continuously regenerates the supply voltage and delivers a pure sine wave regardless of the input grid's condition. This online UPS achieves a high efficiency of up to 98%, thereby actively reducing operating costs and waste heat production. The compact 2U rack design (438 × 86.5 × 608mm, 29.9kg) allows for easy installation in cabinets and offers advanced battery management, plus the option to extend backup time with external modules. An integrated LCD display provides an instant overview of the unit's status and current load. The low operating noise level of under 45dB contributes to a quieter server room.
Key features of the EATON UPS 9E 2000i Rack 2U uninterruptible power supply
- Online double-conversion topology filters all power grid anomalies
- High operating efficiency reduces energy consumption and waste heat production
- Option to connect external battery modules for longer autonomy
- Clear LCD display shows instant operating status
- Software enables remote management and automated system shutdown
- Compact 2U rack format simplifies installation in 19" cabinets
Performance and efficiency of the online topology
This UPS operates with online double-conversion topology, which continuously regenerates the input voltage and delivers a pure sine wave to the output. This completely isolates connected devices from all anomalies in the power grid. The nominal apparent power is 2000VA, while the actual available power for the load is 1800W. The very high operating efficiency in online mode, which is 98% at full load, limits energy losses and reduces cooling requirements in the server room. At half load, the unit maintains an efficiency of 97%. An internal bypass automatically switches the load to the mains in case of a UPS fault.
Battery system of the EATON UPS 9E 2000i Rack 2U
Six maintenance-free lead-acid batteries (12V / 7Ah) provide backup power. This internal system delivers a backup time of 8.5 minutes at a full load of 1800W and 23 minutes at a half load of 900W. For critical applications requiring longer autonomy, the system allows the connection of external battery modules (EBMs). Advanced battery management includes temperature-compensated charging, automatic testing, and deep discharge protection, which extends their operational lifespan. It connects to the mains via a standard IEC C14 input connector. For powering protected devices, it offers six IEC C13 output sockets, facilitating the direct connection of servers and network components.
Management, communication, and software
The unit includes RS-232 and USB ports for local and remote management. The USB port supports the HID protocol for basic control without driver installation in the operating system. It also features a mini terminal block for the remote power off (RPO) function. An expansion slot enables the installation of an optional communication card, for example, for network management via SNMP or for connecting to industrial buses. The Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and Eaton Intelligent Power Protector software provide centralised monitoring and automated, safe system shutdown.
