The Eaton 5PX 3000i RT3U Gen2 UPS is a high-power-density, line-interactive UPS that delivers 3000VA and, thanks to its power factor of 1, a full 3000W of real power. Its design is ideal for powering modern servers and IT infrastructure. It boasts an energy efficiency rating of up to 98%, reducing operating costs and heat loss. Its compact dimensions of 438×129×483mm make it easy to integrate into data racks. The operating noise level does not exceed 40dB, allowing for deployment even in office environments. At full load, it powers connected devices for 9 minutes, which is enough time to safely shut down systems during a power outage.

Power and supply stability of the Eaton 5PX 3000i RT3U Gen2 backup power supply

The backup power supply uses a line-interactive topology that includes Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR). This technology continuously corrects undervoltages and overvoltages without switching to battery power, thus preserving battery life. Thanks to its power factor of 1 (PF=1.0), it delivers a full 3000W of power at an apparent power of 3000VA. Its high operating efficiency of 98% reduces electricity consumption. The output voltage has a pure sine wave form, which works even with sensitive electronics.

Battery management and runtime extension

Power is supplied by six maintenance-free lead-acid batteries (6×12V/9Ah) that are hot-swappable, meaning you can replace them without interrupting power to connected devices. Integrated protection features include deep-discharge protection and automatic battery health tests. The backup time can be extended by connecting external battery modules (EBMs). The UPS automatically detects connected EBMs and adjusts the estimated runtime accordingly.

Monitoring, management and connectivity options

A multilingual graphical LCD display provides a clear overview of operating statuses and configuration. Support for Eaton Intelligent Power Manager software facilitates centralised monitoring and management of multiple UPS units on the network and automates responses to power events. An IEC C20 input connector is used for network connection. Ten output sockets power the devices, specifically eight IEC C13 sockets and two high-current IEC C19 sockets. For communication with servers and workstations, the UPS offers a USB port (HID compatible) and a serial RS-232 port. An available slot for installing a network or other communication card provides further connectivity options.
