EATON UPS 5PX 3000i RT2U Gen2

EATON UPS 5PX 3000i RT2U Gen2
The Eaton 5PX 3000i RT2U Gen2 backup power supply uses line-interactive topology and provides an apparent and real power of 3000VA / 3000W to power servers and network components. Thanks to its 1.0 power factor, it can power more modern IT devices than other UPS systems with the same apparent power. Its versatile 2U rack/tower design adapts for mounting in a 19" rack or for vertical placement next to a server. A clear graphical LCD display shows key operating parameters and simplifies configuration. At a full load of 3000W, it keeps connected equipment running for 9 minutes, with the option for further extension using external modules.
Key features of the Eaton UPS 5PX 3000i RT2U Gen2 backup power supply
- Line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation (AVR)
- Versatile design for rack mounting (2U) and vertical installation
- User-replaceable batteries with deep-discharge protection
- Supports external battery modules to extend backup time
- Eaton software manages and automatically shuts down systems safely
- Graphical LCD display provides a clear status overview and simplifies setup
- Data line protection and remote on/off (ROO/RPO) interface
Performance and installation flexibility
The unit delivers an apparent and real power of 3000VA / 3000W, corresponding to a power factor of 1.0, and efficiently powers modern servers with active power factor correction. The flexible 2U design adapts for installation in a server cabinet or for standalone vertical placement. The package includes a rack-mounting kit and supports for vertical positioning, so no additional accessories are required.
Efficiency of the Eaton UPS 5PX 3000i RT2U Gen2 backup power supply
The line-interactive topology, with high efficiency of up to 98% in online mode, reduces operating costs and heat generation. The unit is ENERGY STAR certified. The automatic voltage regulation (AVR) function compensates for input voltage fluctuations without switching to battery power, thereby extending battery life. Its quiet operation, with noise levels below 40dB at a distance of one metre, means it can be deployed outside of dedicated server rooms.
Batteries and runtime extension
Backup power is provided by six internal 12V / 9Ah maintenance-free lead-acid batteries. They are hot-swappable, so the user can easily replace them without interrupting power to connected devices. Advanced Battery Management (ABM) optimises the charging process and extends battery life. For critical applications, the backup time can be significantly extended by connecting up to four external battery modules (EBMs), which the system automatically recognises.
Controls and connectivity
The clear graphical LCD display provides instant information on the UPS status and measured values. It uses USB and RS-232 ports for integration into an IT environment. Eaton's Intelligent Power Protector software for automated system shutdown is included. The unit also includes a slot for an optional network card for full remote management. An IEC C20 input connector connects the unit to the mains. To power appliances, the unit offers a total of ten output backup sockets: eight IEC C13 and two IEC C19. It also features a mini-terminal block for data line protection and remote on/off (ROO/RPO) contacts.
