This offline Eaton 700VA UPS unit delivers a true power output of 420W, which is sufficient for standard workstations. Performance and backup time
This backup power supply uses an off-line topology, powering devices directly from the mains during normal operation and switching to the battery during an outage. The unit has an efficiency of 97% at 100% load, which reduces its own energy consumption. At a full load of 420W, it provides a backup time of 1 minute. At half load, the backup time extends to 9 minutes, giving you enough time to save your work-in-progress and perform a controlled shutdown of all systems.
Design and installation
The flat design, measuring 263 × 263 × 235mm, allows for flexible installation in the office or at home. You can place the Tower unit vertically next to a desk, horizontally under a monitor, or integrate it into a 19" rack using an optional mounting kit. The low profile makes it easy to organise your cables and fit it into tight spaces. Its 3.9kg weight contributes to the device's stability while ensuring it's not difficult to handle when you need to move it.
Management and features
Communication with the computer is handled by a USB port that supports HID for automatic integration with common operating systems, with no need to install drivers. The system supports automatic shutdown of the connected computer. The user can easily replace the battery, which extends the life of the entire device. The cold start feature lets you start the UPS and connected devices even without mains power.
Connectivity options
A total of four IEC C13 sockets are available for connecting devices. Three of them offer full battery backup and surge protection, while the fourth socket provides surge protection only for less critical equipment. Two IEC connection cables are also included in the package.
