You are an elite cyclist. Nobody asked you if you wanted to be. It's just the way it is. Your dad is compensating for his own unfulfilled ambitions through you. His love is conditional on your performance. What does your mum think? You have no idea, because she never says anything. Your classmates think you're weird. You don't have any friends, and you wouldn't have time for them anyway. You're mostly alone. Actually, you have been your whole life. Where does healthy sport end and the pathological desire for success begin? What is the cost of dreams? And are they even your dreams anymore?
