The CyberPower BU650EG-FR backup power supply uses line-interactive topology and has an apparent power of 650VA and a real power of 360W. At a full load of 360W, it keeps appliances running for 30 minutes; at half load, this time extends to 330 minutes. The integrated automatic voltage regulation stabilises the output current without switching to the battery, thereby extending its life. The unit also includes surge protection and has a compact design for placing on a desk or mounting on a wall. Its energy-efficient operation is supported by GreenPower UPS technology.
The line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) actively corrects minor mains fluctuations without switching to battery mode. The AVR system uses one boost and one buck stage to maintain a stable output. Patented GreenPower UPS technology uses a bypass circuit to reduce energy consumption and operating temperature. A lower temperature helps to extend battery life. The efficiency of the power supply at 100% full load is 70%, increasing to 85% at 50% load. The integrated battery fully charges in 8 hours and supports a cold start function without being connected to the mains. The battery is not user-replaceable. A multi-stage system protects the connected electronics. The foundation is a 150J surge protector that absorbs energy spikes. EMI and RFI filters suppress electromagnetic and radio frequency interference to ensure clean power. The power supply also protects against overloads.
The compact Tower/Desktop design makes it easy to place on a desk or in tight spaces. The construction also allows for wall mounting. The power supply supports power from an external generator. The user can customise the behaviour of the audible alarm, which signals a switch to battery, low battery, or overload. The alarm can be turned off completely to avoid disturbances in a quiet environment. The noise level during normal operation does not exceed 40dBA. For connection to the mains, it has a fixed 1.2-metre power cable, ending in a standard Schuko plug. On the output side, there are a total of three FR type (Schuko) sockets. All three output sockets provide full battery backup and are also protected against surges.
