A Lens Hood is a basic part of the equipment that goes with digital cameras. It prevents off-angle light to be reflected on the lens of digital camera, which may cause lens flare effects, such as random bright spots or streaks of light. Of course, there will be times when you want the sun in the picture to create a certain shot. When using the Canon ES-73B lens hood, you can take pictures even on a bright day, with the landscape bathed in sunlight.
