The AXAGON PCEA-S4N internal card with 4 serial ports provides an effective solution for expanding your desktop computer with four standard RS-232 ports with DB9 male connectors. It uses the PCI-Express 2.0 bus to fit into the motherboard, while maintaining backward and forward compatibility with version 1.0a, 1.1, 2.1 and 3.0 slots. At the heart of the controller is the ASIX AX99100 chip, which ensures reliable data transfer and seamless cooperation with operating systems. Thanks to Plug and Play support, it automatically detects and selects the IRQ and I/O address, simplifying overall installation and commissioning without the need for manual configuration.

Powerful controller chipset
The core of this internal RS232 controller is the ASIX AX99100 chipset, which controls data transfer and supports a wide range of Windows and Linux operating systems. For stable and smooth communication with connected devices, each of the four ports has its own 256-Byte Transmit and Receive FIFO buffer. This buffer reduces CPU load and prevents data loss at higher transfer speeds, which reach up to 250kBd.
Flexible installation
The card offers flexible mounting and can be adapted to different types of computer cases. Two serial ports are located directly on the main card bracket, while the remaining two are on a separate bracket connected to the card by an internal cable. The package includes additional low-profile brackets to replace the standard ones. This modification allows the controller to be installed even in compact HTPC or server cases with limited space.
Advanced settings and port protection
The drivers for this PCI-Express serial card unlock advanced configuration options for specific applications. The user can set detailed communication parameters, such as word length, parity, and the number of stop bits. There is also a choice of Xon/Xoff, hardware, or no flow control, and support for 9-bit data transfer. In addition, all ports are protected against electrostatic discharge damage up to ±15KV and ±8KV.
