APC Smart-UPS SRT 3 000VA RM 230V rack-mount

The APC Smart-UPS SRT 3000VA uninterruptible power supply is an online double-conversion UPS that delivers a true power output of 2700W at an apparent power of 3000VA. This rackmount UPS protects servers and critical IT infrastructure from all types of power failures. Thanks to its double-conversion topology, the device continuously regenerates the input voltage and on the output provides a stable and clean sine wave with zero transfer time to the battery. At full load, it provides power for 3 minutes and 58 seconds, and at half load, 11 minutes and 48 seconds. The 2U rackmount uninterruptible power supply for servers delivers a pure sine wave output, ensuring the safe operation of sensitive electronics.

Performance and efficiency

The double-conversion topology filters out all anomalies in the power grid and provides a stable sine wave voltage at the output with zero transfer time. The efficiency of this power supply at full load is 93.5% and 92.8% at half load. The backup time is directly dependent on the current load of the connected appliances, with the backup time increasing as the load decreases.

Battery and runtime extension

The internal 96V lead-acid battery fully recharges in 3 hours. The RBC152 battery module is hot-swappable by the user, which simplifies maintenance without interrupting power to protected devices. Applications requiring longer autonomy can increase the runtime by connecting a single external battery module. Protection for connected equipment includes surge protection with an energy rating of 340J, automatic and manual internal bypass, RJ-45 data network protection and an Emergency Power Off (EPO) port.

Management and monitoring

Management and supervision are provided by a graphical LCD, which displays key operating states and measured values. The included PowerChute Network Shutdown software controls the shutdown of physical servers and virtual machines, preventing data loss during a prolonged outage.

Design and installation

The rackmount UPS is designed for installation in standard server cabinets, where it occupies 2U of height. Its dimensions are 85 × 432 × 635mm and it weighs 31.3kg. The operating temperature is in the range of 0–40°C. In operation, it generates a noise level of 55dBA. The design and included mounting rails make it easy to integrate into existing IT infrastructure. The compact, high power density design saves valuable space in the data rack.

Connectivity and sockets

Connection to the network is via USB and Ethernet ports. The connector equipment includes an IEC C20 input connection, a Schuko CEE 7/EU1-16P, and a British standard BS1363A. Power for appliances is provided by eight IEC C13 sockets and two IEC C19 sockets, supplemented by two IEC Jumper cables. The wide range of connectors allows for the connection of a variety of devices.
