The APC Smart-UPS 1500 VA LCD RM 2U 230V with SmartConnect rackmount backup power supply is designed to power servers, network components and other critical IT infrastructure. This line-interactive UPS has a power output of 1500VA (1000W), actively stabilises voltage with its AVR function, and supplies a pure sine wave, which is essential for sensitive electronics. The unit ensures operational continuity and provides a backup time of up to 21 minutes and 51 seconds at half load. For simple management and maintenance, it features an integrated SmartConnect port, which provides remote cloud-based monitoring of the unit's status without needing to install additional software.

Performance and stability

The backup power supply uses line-interactive topology, which actively responds to network instabilities. The integrated Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects undervoltage and overvoltage without switching to battery power, thereby preserving battery life. The output voltage is a pure sine wave, which is compatible with sensitive electronics and servers with active power factor correction (PFC). With a real power of 1000W and an apparent power of 1500VA, it provides enough capacity for multiple devices. At 100% load, the backup time is 7 minutes and 14 seconds.

Battery and comprehensive protection

At the heart of the power supply is a lead-acid battery, which takes 3 hours to fully charge. Its design enables hot-swapping by the user, so there is no interruption of power to protected devices. The safety of connected electronics is ensured by surge protection with an absorption capacity of 459J. It also includes data line protection (RJ-45) to prevent damage to network components from voltage spikes spreading through the Ethernet cable.

Remote management with SmartConnect and PowerChute

For modern monitoring, the UPS includes a SmartConnect port that provides access to a cloud portal for remote status monitoring, notifications and firmware management. For traditional local management, USB and RS-232 ports are available. For advanced network functions, you can use the free SmartSlot to install an optional Network Management Card (NMC). The included PowerChute Business Edition software coordinates the safe and automated shutdown of servers in the event of a prolonged power outage.

Connectivity and sockets

Input power is supplied via a standard IEC C14 connector. To connect the load, there are a total of four IEC C13 sockets and two IEC Jumpers. All outputs are battery-backed and surge-protected.
