APC Easy UPS SMV 2000VA

APC Easy UPS SMV 2000VA
The APC Easy UPS SMV 2000VA provides reliable power protection with a real power output of 1400W and an apparent power of 2000VA. This line-interactive UPS offers protection for workstations, small servers, and network devices in environments with unstable power grids. Thanks to Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), it corrects both undervoltage and overvoltage without switching to battery power, thereby extending the battery's lifespan. The pure sine wave output during battery operation is crucial for protecting sensitive electronics and modern computers with active power factor correction (PFC) power supplies. At full load, it provides a backup time of 3.6 minutes, and at half load, 12.1 minutes, giving you enough time to safely save your work and shut down systems.
Key features of the APC Easy UPS SMV 2000VA backup power supply
- Line-interactive topology with a pure sine wave output
- Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) for grid stabilisation
- Clear LCD display showing current status
- USB and RS-232 communication interfaces for management
- User-replaceable lead-acid battery
- 6 fully backed-up IEC C13 output sockets
- Compact tower design for easy placement
Performance and power stability
This backup power supply uses a line-interactive topology that actively stabilises fluctuating mains voltage. It achieves an efficiency of 96.6% at full load and 94.0% at half load. The Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) feature corrects undervoltage and overvoltage without switching to battery operation, which extends the battery's life and keeps your equipment running smoothly. The USB and RS-232 communication ports connect the UPS to a computer, enabling management and status monitoring. The unit connects to the mains via an IEC C14 input connector. Six IEC C13 output sockets are available to power your protected devices.
Battery and protection features
At the heart of the unit is a maintenance-free 48V lead-acid battery with an expected lifespan of 3 to 5 years, which fully recharges in 4 hours. The option to replace the battery with a compatible APCRBCV208 module simplifies maintenance and reduces long-term operating costs. An integrated surge protector with 125J of energy absorption actively safeguards connected devices against damage caused by voltage spikes in the mains. Deep discharge protection also contributes to a longer battery life. This device does not support the connection of external battery modules to extend the backup time.
Operating characteristics
The power supply features a compact tower design with dimensions of 455 × 240 × 180mm, making it easy to place in an office, under a desk, or next to a server. Its weight of 23.5kg corresponds to its power and battery capacity. The clear LCD on the front panel displays key operational information in real time, including load status, battery charge, and operating mode. The included software on CD provides detailed monitoring and enables automatic system shutdown during a prolonged power outage. The operating noise level reaches 45dBA, which is comparable to the quiet operation of a modern computer and will not disrupt your working environment. The device can operate in a temperature range from 0 to 40°C, ensuring reliable performance in standard office and technical rooms.
