OptiNAND technology for higher recording density
OptiNAND technology integrates iNAND® Universal Flash Storage (UFS) in the form of an embedded flash drive (EFD) with traditional rotating disk media, and introduces innovative changes to the firmware algorithms and system-on-chip (SoC). OptiNAND is not a hybrid technology. The drive works smarter, with improved firmware algorithms leveraging expanded metadata that has been moved to the iNAND to enable more tracks per inch (TPI), and therefore higher areal density.
