The Ubiquiti LiteBeam 5AC WiFi Access Point functions as an outdoor client station and access point with support for the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard. The device operates in a single-band mode on the 5GHz frequency and transfers data at speeds of up to 867Mbps. It uses MU-MIMO technology for efficient communication with multiple client stations. Its durable chassis protects the internal components from the elements, while the integrated dedicated radio for wireless management simplifies initial setup directly in the field using the UNMS mobile app.
Wireless transmission takes place in the 5GHz band using the 802.11ac standard. The integrated antenna with InnerFeed technology connects the radio part directly to the feedhorn, eliminating losses on the coaxial cable. The device works with MU-MIMO technology to serve multiple clients efficiently and directs the radiation beam into a narrow angle to suppress ambient noise. The wireless connection speed is up to 867Mbps with an optional channel width of up to 80MHz for Point-to-Point links.
The access point uses the WPA2 protocol to protect transmitted data. The design withstands adverse external conditions and wind loads of up to 200km/h. Integrated ESD/EMP surge protection withstands discharges of up to ±24kV through contact and air. The device operates in a temperature range of -40 to 70°C, making it suitable for demanding climatic conditions.
The system is powered by a MIPS 74Kc processor supplemented with 64MB of DDR2 RAM. The airOS v8 operating system provides advanced diagnostic tools, including the airView spectral analyser. A dedicated service Wi-Fi radio simplifies management and convenient setup via the UNMS mobile app. The unit supports access point and client operating modes for flexible deployment in wireless networks. A single 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet port provides the physical connection to the local network. The unit is powered via passive PoE in a voltage range of 24V ±10%, and the necessary PoE adapter is included in the package, supplying a current of 0.3A. The power consumption of this device is 7W. Pole installation is made easy by a mounting kit with separate azimuth and elevation adjustment for precise aiming.
