The SmallRig 2456 Hand Strap is used to secure a camera to your wrist when shooting handheld with a camera cage or side handle. This functional element prevents your equipment from accidentally dropping and helps to stabilise your shots when moving around in the field. The 12mm wide nylon strap increases stability when holding the camera and makes handling heavier equipment easier. The design combines a durable polyurethane exterior with soft internal EVA padding. The strap itself weighs just 22g, so it won't tire a camera operator's hand during all-day use.

Camera stabilisation
The hand strap helps to eliminate vibrations when shooting handheld and improves the grip on your entire camera setup. The firm physical connection between your hand and the camera cage or side handle prevents your expensive device from slipping and stabilises shots while walking and during quick changes of direction. The safety wrist strap will hold the device even if your grip suddenly loosens, protecting the camera from impact damage if dropped when working in challenging outdoor conditions.
Materials and moisture wicking
The outer surface is made of abrasion-resistant polyurethane, which resists mechanical wear and tear from daily use. The inner layer of microfibre and EVA padding absorbs shocks and wicks moisture away from the palm during long shoots. This combination of materials keeps your hand dry even when working in warm weather and prevents the strap from slipping on your skin. The soft design does not press into the wrist, even under the long-term load of a heavier camera setup.
Quick adjustment
The nylon camera strap includes an integrated mechanism for instant length adjustment according to your hand size. Simply by pulling on the free end, the user can adjust the tightness of the strap around the wrist without having to deal with complicated buckle adjustments. The system reliably holds the set size and does not loosen on its own, even with sharp hand movements. The quick tightening feature makes it easy to react swiftly to changing conditions during reportage filming.
Accessory compatibility
The strap fits cages and side handles with a 12mm wide strap slot on both the top and bottom. Attachment requires connection to both the top and bottom openings for proper stability and safety. The product is compatible with, for example, the SmallRig 2203B cage for the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K or the SmallRig HSS2425 universal aluminium side handle. Attaching to L-plates requires a ring, which is not included in the package.
Load capacity and maintenance
The construction safely supports a heavy load and protects even heavy equipment from falling. The safe load capacity of 12.5kg is fully sufficient for heavy setups with large lenses and other mounted accessories. The strap requires hand washing only, followed by drying in the shade in a ventilated area away from direct sunlight to prevent material damage. The product was designed by Abby Huang with the needs of camera operators in mind.
