The Noctua NF-A4x20 5V PWM is a quiet 40×20mm fan that runs on a 5V power supply and supports PWM speed control in the range of 1100 to 5000RPM, with a maximum noise level of 14.9dB. This model improves on the standard 40mm Noctua fan with double the thickness, which ensures higher static pressure. The fan is equipped with technologies like Flow Acceleration Channels and an AAO frame, which optimise airflow and reduce noise. Integrated polarity protection protects the device from incorrect wiring, which is beneficial when using proprietary connectors. Microstructures on the inner surface and extra-soft silicone anti-vibration pads minimise vibrations and increase efficiency.

Precise control and quiet operation
The fan uses a proprietary NE-FD3 PWM IC with Smooth Commutation Drive technology, which ensures smooth torque delivery and suppresses PWM switching noises at low speeds. The second-generation SSO2 bearing provides precision, stability and long life. The Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the intake air, which reduces tonal noise and improves suction capacity, especially in space-constrained installations.
Compatibility and easy installation
An OmniJoin™ adapter set is included with the fan, enabling connection to the proprietary connectors of various devices. The primary 20cm cable minimises clutter in typical applications, while the included 30cm extension cable offers greater reach for more demanding installations. A Y-cable is also included, which lets you connect a second fan to the same PWM header for automatic control of both units.
