Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM

Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM
The Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM fan replaces the NF-A14 model and integrates the technological innovations introduced with the NF-A12x25. This 140mm fan is a universal cooling solution for modern PC builds. Its design focuses on two key usage scenarios. It achieves high airflow for case ventilation while also generating sufficient static pressure to effectively push air through the dense fins of heatsinks and water-cooling radiators. The fan uses advanced aerodynamic principles and Sterrox LCP composite material, contributing to quiet operation even at high speeds.
Key features of the Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM PC fan
- Automatic speed control via a 4-pin PWM connector
- Sterrox LCP material propeller reduces vibration and deformation
- SSO2 bearings contribute to quiet operation and reliability
- etaPERF motor with SupraTorque technology maintains stable speeds
- Design ensures high airflow and static pressure
Design of the Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM PC fan
The manufacturer has made the propeller from Sterrox LCP liquid-crystal polymer. This material reduces unwanted resonance and deformation at high speeds. A small 0.7mm gap between the blade tips and the frame increases static pressure and focuses the airflow. The blade geometry with Progressive-Bend technology and a frame with advanced acoustic optimisation features also contribute to the overall efficiency.
Motor with SupraTorque technology
The fan is driven by a low-energy-loss etaPERF motor, with its smooth operation supported by Smooth Commutation Drive 2 technology. A key component of the motor is the SupraTorque function, which uses a torque reserve to maintain stable speeds even under load. The fan maintains a stable rotational speed even when air resistance increases, for example, on the dense fins of CPU coolers or water-cooling radiators.
Speed control and bearings of the PC fan
Quiet and reliable operation is supported by Self-stabilising Oil-pressure Bearings, whose design stabilises the rotor axis using oil pressure. The connection is made via a 4-pin PWM connector, which is used for automatic speed control through the computer's motherboard. This lets the user seamlessly adjust performance from a silent mode up to a maximum speed of 1500rpm. The package also includes a Low-Noise Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed to 1250rpm.
