The book is a readable encyclopaedia that, from a certain angle, maps the modern history of Czechia from the post-Velvet Revolution era essentially up to the present day.
Detective KAREL TICHÝ dedicated 26 years of his life to the police force, in the last years of his career as an officer of the elite anti-corruption service, which uncovered the most serious economic crime. In the anti-corruption service, he managed operations concerned with gathering information through wiretaps, but especially in the field, often with the help of informants. And so he witnessed the beginnings of today's prominent business figures, who often operate on the edge of the law, or have even slipped into the murky waters of crime.
He is the author of the successful book Lovec mafiánů (Mafia Hunter) (2021). On the PrahaIN portal, he published a series of articles with HANA HLUŠIČKOVÁ, from which the book Kudy kráčel zločin (Where Crime Walked) (2023) emerged. The precursor to this book was a series of articles on the same portal, Aféry kauzy.cz (Scandals Cases.cz).
