OTP protection shuts down the PSU if the safe temperature is exceeded, OVP and UVP monitor voltage fluctuations at the output, SCP instantly disconnects the power in case of a short circuit, OCP and OPP protect against current and power overload, NLO prevents damage when no load is connected, and SIP eliminates dangerous voltage spikes on start-up. The 80 Plus certification was created to objectively evaluate the efficiency of PC power supplies. It gives users a simple and clear way to compare different models.
