I've only had it for 14 days. Before this one, I tried the Keychron K5 Max (also slim), but I returned it because I didn't like the small spaces between the keys and the backlighting wasn't great either. This SM3 has a perfect full layout with no compromises, no contrivances (ala logitech), but some may mind the narrow enter (it's a US layout). It looks good, it feels good, the keys are great. The grip is good, it looks the same to me as the keychron - I can't see the difference without direct comparison. The noise is so standard, I guess they didn't try too hard to make it quiet. The stamina seems sufficient to me, but it's no record breaker. With the backlight turned on to the lowest level, everyday use (not for work, more like after work), it lasted 11 days, when it was still showing 40% (in Win) but it was already reporting that I had to recharge it and the backlight was turned off completely. So overall I am satisfied, but it is not perfect. They're more or less little things, I can live with them, but it's a bit of a shame. I wrote them down.
It feels good, I like the sound of the keys and the press, now that I'm back to the old classic Logitech K120, which I used to like, I don't like it anymore: )
easy switching and pairing between devices (2xBT, 1xUSB dongl, 1xcable, each has its own special key)
stable connection (I've only tried BT), it hasn't happened to me yet that it's been jammed and unresponsive, I use it together with MX 3S, both BT, no problem, 2m from casu, it worked 4-5m fine when I tried it.
The white backlight looks nice, and has translucent keys (not like the Keychron K5Max, which only glowed around the keys), and doesn't have unnecessary rgb!
the keys are "illuminated", which looks beautiful when the backlight is on, but unfortunately if the backlight is off, so in the twilight are not very legible labels, because the labels are not printed in white, color but it is translucent plastic - in the twilight gray and hard to see. This is probably a problem of all keyboards with "prosvit", unfortunately: (
in Windows my keyboard after 11 days, when the battery got to 40% (it shows it windows) completely turned off the backlighting, which makes the keyboard harder to use (see previous point), so I could not even try how long it actually lasts overall before it runs out of power at 0%, because I could not see it.
backlight modes - the only normal "constant light", the others like waves, pulsing and other 10 crap are useless and unfortunately it's switched by a single key, so if you accidentally press it, you have to then press 10 times to get back to normal mode.
the top row of keys is multimedia and you can easily switch to F-key mode, but when you are in this mode, the ESC key flashes constantly - this is unreal! Who invented this?
it doesn't have any utility to set the keys, I wouldn't necessarily need to map keys/macros, but for example how long it will light up when inactive, or how hard to the lowest mode, or not to blink ESC - I would like to set that, too bad, nothing at all.
