WD Purple Pro 12TB
The WD Purple Pro 12TB hard disk is one of the high load internal HDDs for monitoring systems operating 24/7. The 3.5" format is designed primarily for desktop PCs and data centres. One of the key characteristics is clearly the rotational speed of the HDD. The 7200 rev/min RPM provides improved performance and data speeds. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 12000 GB. The drive uses a 256 MB memory cache. The data transfer between the Western Digital hard drive and a computer or other device takes place using the SATA III interface.

Other Hard Disk Features
Platter HDDs have a special construction. Inside the drive there is a mechanism with moving platters, complete with disk read/write heads. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but at the same time you get an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The key criterion that affects the speed of a HDD is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). With the WD Purple Pro 12TB, you get 7200 rev/min RPM. It's a great model for more demanding users, such as graphic or video editors - in short, people who work with large amounts of data. System responsivity and overall stability is also affected the embedded buffer memory known as cache. The Western Digital hard drive features a 256 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their speedy reading.
Connecting the Western Digital HDD
In order to mount the WD Purple Pro 12TB in the device of your choice, it must be equipped with a 3.5" slot. Data transfer takes place through the SATA III interface, boasting a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. The technology is one of the most popular HDD data transfer solutions available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
