With the Schleich Triceratops figurine you can meet the interesting world of dinosaurs. What was the Triceratops? The name Triceratops means "three horns on the head". Although he looked dangerous, he fed exclusively from plants. As a herbivore he was hunted by the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The front of his jaw was formed like a parrot beak that was used to separate plant food. Triceratops had three horns of keratin, the same protein from which the nails and hair are formed. The horns above his eyes were almost a metre long. Since his head weighed almost as much as a small car and accounted for about a third of his body, he had a very heavy tail to keep his ten-metre body in balance. The legs were very strong, like the legs of today's elephants.
