The NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 AF-S DX lens is a versatile tool for photographers using Nikon's DX-format DSLRs. Great for beginners and advanced users alike. With a focal length equivalent to a roughly 50mm lens on a 35mm format, it offers an image angle close to natural human vision. The resulting images and videos look authentic and natural. The lens allows you to capture the subject and the surrounding environment without having to significantly change the distance from the scene. This makes it perfect for everyday photography, portraits and documentary shots.
The NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 AF-S DX lens is so flexible, you can have fun shooting all day long. High f/1.8 aperture ensures exceptionally sharp images even when it's dark. When shooting in natural light, the lens does an amazing job. Keep shooting even when the sun goes down and take great portraits even in low-light environments. The excellent aperture ensures higher image brightness in the viewfinder and enables more precise image composition.
Discover the secret of a softly blurred background. The subject can be easily isolated from the surroundings, making the effect of the image more dramatic. The secret to creating a beautiful background blur (also known as bokeh) is to shoot with a little blur to create a shallow depth of field. Because the NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 AF-S DX lens has an f/1.8 aperture, it gives you ultimate control over depth of field. Whether you're shooting stills or video, sharply rendered foreground objects will stand out beautifully against a beautifully blurred background.
The lens focuses on subjects with perfect precision and almost instantly. Alternatively, you can fine-tune the composition by manually focusing. Nikon's exclusive ultrasonic focusing engine offers fast autofocusing that you can smoothly intervene manually. The M/A focus mode allows you to switch from auto to manual focus by simply turning the focus ring while shooting.
Enjoy images and video sequences with rich, vibrant colours and strong contrast. You can take photos in bright light or backlight. The NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 AF-S DX lens gives you consistently stunning images. The aspherical optical element contributes to stunning sharpness and contrast across the entire image field, even when shooting with a small aperture.
The NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 AF-S DX lens has a compact size. It's easy to travel with and great for unobtrusive street photography. The fixed focal length lens weighs only 200g (approx.) and is easy to use and portable. It's the perfect travel accessory for Nikon's nimble, high-resolution DX-format digital single-lens reflex cameras.

Nikon’s beginnings date back to 1917 in Japan. At first, the company mainly produced lenses - telescopes, binoculars, microscopes and other small, optical equipment. Soon the company expanded its portfolio, producing photographic lenses under the Nikkor brand.
In the field of cameras, particularly among professionals, Nikon quickly gained a reputation as a top manufacturer, which continues today. Its cameras were even included in the equipment of American spacecraft. Nikon designed and produced the legendary Nikon SP 1957, regarded by many as the best camera of all time.
