Snapchat Spectacles

The popular social network Snapchat has introduced its first hardware. Spectacles sunglasses are not just a stylish accessory —  they have a built-in camera system that communicates with Snapchat.

Dual Camera

On each side of the glasses is a lens with 115° viewing angle. They allow you to record exactly what you see in 10-second segments, which can be extended up to half a minute. Recorded footage is then automatically sent to the Snapchat app. Due to the fisheye format, your own video app will crop the image, so the resulting video can be viewed on both portrait and landscape displays.

Ease of Use

Spectacles glasses save the recorded video until they are connected to your phone and have a chance to sync the data. So you don't need to have your phone with you. The glasses are compatible with iOS and Android. And in iOS, short videos can also be sent via Bluetooth. The glasses offer all-day battery life, and the special case has an integrated power pack that lets you recharge up to 4 times on the go.
