Speed and Image Fluidity
The 200Hz refresh rate reduces lag and motion blur, giving you an edge in fast-paced shooters, racing games or real-time strategies. With this frequency, you can play at high visual settings and react instantly to what's happening on screen. To reduce ghosting and blurring, the monitor offers ASUS ELMB SYNC technology, which works in conjunction with adaptive sync. The result is a sharp image on the ASUS TUF Gaming VG257Q5A monitor even at high frame rates, supported by a low 0.5ms (GtG) response time.
Image Properties
The display is based on a 24.5" VA panel that offers a native contrast ratio of 3,500:1, displaying rich blacks and detail in dark scenes. The ASUS TUF Gaming VG257Q5A monitor works with 8-bit colour depth and covers 125% of the sRGB colour space, so gaming worlds look vibrant and full of colour. Dynamic range enhancement is offered by HDR content support, which increases the difference between the light and dark parts of the image. Brightness reaches 300cd/m², ensuring a clear display in normally lit rooms. Adaptive-Sync technology, compatible with FreeSync Premium, synchronises the monitor's refresh rate with the graphics card to reduce screen tearing.
Gaming Features and Settings
AMD FreeSync Premium technology synchronises the refresh rate of the ASUS TUF Gaming VG257Q5A monitor with the output of the graphics card, effectively reducing screen tearing and stuttering. The Shadow Boost function offers a better overview in dark areas of the game, which lightens dark areas without overexposing the bright parts. You can manage all monitor settings with your mouse via the DisplayWidget Center software, which eliminates the need to use buttons and the OSD menu. There are also preset GameVisual modes for different game genres. The monitor includes integrated speakers.
Ergonomics and Connectivity Options
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG257Q5A monitor stand offers basic ergonomics in the form of screen tilt, allowing you to find a suitable viewing angle. For more advanced positioning, the monitor supports compatibility with VESA 100×100mm mounts, which open up the possibility of mounting on a wall or on a fully adjustable arm, customising your setup. Colour Gamut
Determines how accurately a monitor can display colours. sRGB is ideal for web, movies or games. DCI-P3/Adobe RGB is appreciated by graphic designers or professionals. The higher the value, the better the monitor displays colours. Maximum Brightness
The value, given in nits or cd/m², determines the brightness of the monitor. A brightness of over 400 nits is key for HDR content and readability in sunlight, while standard office monitors are fine with values over 250. Refresh Rate and Response Time
Refresh rate (Hz) determines the number of frames displayed per second, so the higher the value, the smoother the picture and the less eye strain. A lower response time (ms) eliminates motion blur. 144Hz+ is ideal for gaming, while values around 75Hz are suitable for office monitors.Specifications
