The mechanism for removing the extensions and cutting heads is very well designed in my opinion. The packaging is eco-friendly, no plastic. The beard cut length adjustment looks solid, I just hope the tips of the attachments don't break off. The machine cuts nicely, both beard and body. I expect the battery life to be the same as the older version, which lasted about a year when used once every 1-2 weeks. It charges quickly. The quality of the plastic body is surprisingly good, although the metal one looks better. The new version is also noticeably lighter with a plastic body compared to the 7000 MG7745/15, which has a metal body. The great advantage is that the cutting heads are compatible with the older version. On the other hand, there is no adapter in the package and the charger is proprietary, so it is not compatible with the 7000 MG7745/15. The question is how long a plastic body will last compared to a metal one - time will tell. The lack of a foil trimmer in the package is a bit disappointing. And another disappointment is the "cloth" case, which is unusable for traveling, it does not protect anything at all. It can be considered somewhat usable just to store all the parts in one place. Overall, the Philips Series 7000 looks solid, and only time will tell if it will be a razor for a few years or for a longer time. The discount price is reasonable and given the quality of the cut and the light weight, it seems a good successor.
