Shorten the wait for the new instalment in the bestselling Joona Linna and Saga Bauer series with this collection of breathtaking short stories. In The Seaman, Lars Kepler returns to the world of his beloved investigators and brings six standalone stories that will keep you awake at night.
A father must commit a contract killing to save his son. A young journalist falls in love with a possible serial killer. A successful lawyer is drawn into a bloody conspiracy. Two teenage girls end up trapped in a deadly game. And you'll also get the story explaining the dark path of the dreaded Jurek Walter. How did he become one of the most terrifying serial killers of all time? Lars Kepler now provides the answer.
The Seaman is overflowing with everything we've come to expect from Kepler—complex characters, a fast pace, strong emotions, violence, and plots that will give you nightmares.
Ever since the first Linna novel, The Hypnotist, published in Czech in 2010, Kepler has been addictive. He can weave connections so ingeniously, create tension, and evoke shivers and shocks, that he is impossible to resist.
- Aktuálně
It’s no surprise that Lars Kepler is among Stieg Larsson’s successors. He has an exceptional feel for physical cruelty and his ability to delve into a psychopath’s mind is truly shocking. Larsson's fate was to have many followers… Kepler is clearly the best of them.
- Time
It's not easy to create a story that keeps you in suspense, but Kepler is a master at it. As a reader, you never know who you can trust. Or which corner an axe-wielding murderer is lurking behind. You're on edge the whole time because you know something is going to happen. You just don't know when.

Lars Kepler
Lars Kepler is the pseudonym for the husband-and-wife team Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril (born 1966) and Alexander Ahndoril (born 1967). Both writers have a fondness for suspense and crime stories and write detective fiction under a pseudonym. They did not want their original, separate work to be associated with their current bestselling detective novels. That is why they invented a pseudonym, inspired by the writer Stieg Larsson and the astronomer Johannes Kepler.
