When you have Auto Brightness on, the difficult eye symbol pops up whenever you change the resolution or ambient light

Under the screen there is an alcove with sensors and IR diodes for illuminating the human proximity sensor. They constantly flash disturbingly, even though this function is disabled in the settings. I think they power up together with the entire sensor block regardless of the firmware's use of that output. Black tape went over them, but be careful to use 2 small pieces of tape so as not to cover the sensor in the middle

The auto brightness decision can't be appropriately corrected in software, I darkened the middle sensor a bit to make the auto do lower screen brightness overall. Still, he's still pretty strong

It's important to turn off any colour correction in combination with auto-brightness, otherwise there's a bug where after the fade-in of a brightness change suddenly pops up an incorrect LUT table, where dark shades near black suddenly pop up higher brightness with ugly posterization. This can be seen in photos with a smooth transition of dark parts to black
