Ubiquiti Loco5AC-5

Ubiquiti Loco5AC-5
The Ubiquiti Loco WiFi antenna is used for outdoor wireless data transmission on the 5GHz frequency. The device connects remote points or client stations to an access point. The design integrates a panel antenna with a gain of 13dBi and a 45° beamwidth. The integrated airMAX AC chipset processes the signal with high efficiency. The outdoor panel design withstands weather conditions thanks to its IP54 rating. The device operates in Access Point and Station modes.

Key Features of the Ubiquiti Loco5AC-5 WiFi Antenna
- The panel antenna has a gain of 13dBi
- The beamwidth is 45° in both polarisations
- The device supports the WiFi 5 wireless standard
- The IP54 rating protects the internal components from dust and water ingress
- The wireless signal range is 10,000m
- The transmission speed ranges from 301 to 500Mbps
- The UV-stabilised polycarbonate construction withstands external elements

Directional Signal
The device transmits a directional signal with a 45° beamwidth in both horizontal and vertical polarisations. The panel antenna has a gain of 13dBi and helps maintain a stable connection over longer distances. Dual polarisation increases the throughput of the wireless connection while reducing interference from the surrounding environment. The range is 10,000m with a direct line of sight. The system uses the 5GHz frequency band to eliminate congestion from common networks.

Durable Outdoor Construction
The UV-stabilised polycarbonate housing protects the internal electronics from sunlight and rain. The IP54 rating prevents the ingress of dust and splashing water from all directions. The device operates reliably in a temperature range of -40 to 70°C. The operating humidity is 5 to 95% non-condensing. The compact dimensions make it easy to install on a pole using the included mounting kit.

Fast Data Transfers
The 802.11ac wireless standard transmits data at a WiFi transmission speed of 450Mbps on the 5GHz frequency. The total transfer speed ranges from 301 to 500Mbps. The modern airMAX AC chipset efficiently manages the allocation of time slots to individual clients. The technology suppresses packet collisions and increases overall network throughput. The device supports a channel width ranging from 10 to 80MHz.

Power and Interface
A single gigabit RJ45 LAN port is used to connect to the network, supporting transfer speeds of up to 1,000Mbps. Power is supplied via the passive PoE standard with a voltage range of 22 to 27V DC. Passive PoE uses the spare pairs of an Ethernet cable to transmit power. The power consumption is 7W. The 24V, 0.3A power supply with gigabit PoE is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.

Advanced Modes
The airOS operating system provides extensive options for setting up and managing the wireless link. Users can configure the device in Access Point mode for transmitting or Station mode for receiving a signal. The integrated management radio facilitates initial setup directly from a mobile phone via the UISP app. The system supports features such as DHCP, routing, QoS and secure access via SSH. LED indicators on the body of the device show signal strength, Ethernet status and power.
