The THERMALTAKE ASTRIA 400 ARGB Black effectively dissipates heat from computer processors and maintains a stable operating temperature. This air cooler uses an active system with two fans. The fitted 120×120mm fans operate at a speed range of 500 to 1800rpm. The fans provide an airflow of 65 CFM and a static pressure of 2.56mmH₂O. Automatic PWM speed control adjusts the rotation speed based on the current system load. The noise level of the entire cooling system does not exceed 26.8dB(A) at full power. The single-tower design features six U-shaped copper heat pipes, each with a 6mm diameter, which are in direct contact with the processor. The cooling capacity is rated at 230W TDP, making it suitable for even the more demanding Intel and AMD processors.

Lighting effects and ARGB backlighting
The lighting system of the THERMALTAKE ASTRIA 400 ARGB processor cooler uses 5V addressable RGB diodes. The top cover contains 18 integrated LEDs, creating a meteor shower lighting effect. Another 9 LEDs are located directly on the fan. A total of 27 LEDs can be controlled using motherboard software via a standard 3-pin ARGB connector. The backlighting is fully synchronisable with other components in your PC case.
RAM compatibility
The asymmetrical shape of the heatsink and the placement of the heat pipes are designed with the space around the processor socket in mind. The THERMALTAKE ASTRIA 400 ARGB processor cooler does not interfere with the RAM slots. This means users can install memory modules with any heatsink height without risk of collision. The design simplifies both installation and subsequent RAM upgrades.
Construction and installation
The core of the passive section is an aluminium fin stack with a modified structure for smoother airflow. Six 6mm-diameter copper heat pipes dissipate heat from the processor. The U-shaped pipes sit directly on the processor's integrated heat spreader – this construction method accelerates heat transfer to the aluminium heatsink. The package includes universal mounting kits for both Intel and AMD platforms. The mounting system supports modern Intel LGA 1700 and AMD AM5 sockets. The cooler is also backwards compatible with older sockets, including LGA 1200, 115x, and AM4. Sturdy metal brackets ensure stable pressure of the cooler against the processor surface.
