Literally a pocket synthesizer, which, however, hides everything you need to produce and unleash your creativity. With TEENAGE ENGINEERING OP-Z, you' ll have a 16-track sequencer, 16 sample packs, 8-sound sound synthesis, Punch-in FX effects, and even let you create your own visual backdrop . Demands on the small size of the synthesizer deprived it of the display, but it is still very well and intuitively controlled. If you are used to the display and you can' t do without it, just connect TEENAGE ENGINEERING OP-Z via Bluetooth to your smartphone with iOS (Android support is not yet available) and make the display out of it.
The sequencer will offer you 16 tracks, each of which can work completely independently, at different speeds and in different lengths. Each track also has 144 steps, each easily completed with notes and effects. It is not a problem to transpose the resulting melodies in real time in the range of six octaves and in different scales. TEENAGE ENGINEERING OP-Z has sixteen preset sample packs, each with 24 samples in the form of effects, kicks, snare, percussion and more, you can add your own samples. The eight sound synthesis engines are complemented by two effects buses with delay, reverb, bit-crush and distortion. In addition, the manufacturer promises future expansion.
The absence of a display that allowed the synthesizer to fit into such an amazingly small body doesn' t have to bother you. You will learn colour resolution, numerical coding and intuitive layout of controls very quickly. The four colour encoders are equipped with LED indications and will delight with high accuracy.
