Thanks to cutting-edge technology, the G Master lens achieves improved performance with consistently high resolution and subtle bokeh even at the widest F1.4 aperture setting. The lens is compact and very lightweight. It also offers fast and accurate autofocus speed with DDSSM, the highest level of control and reliability. The Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens for Sony E-mount digital mirrorless cameras is designed for both Full Frame and APS-C sensors (36mm equivalent) and features a 67mm filter thread, autofocus, aperture ring, dust and moisture resistance and a weight of 445g.

Two XA (High Aspherical) elements in an optical design that meets the stringent requirements of the G Master series contribute to consistently high resolution across the entire image area. There are also three ED (extra low dispersion) glass elements that effectively suppress chromatic aberration. An innovative optical design feature minimizes pre-glare so that point light sources are accurately reproduced.

Optical design with two XA backscatter suppressor (a common deviation in high aperture lenses). Foreshortening can cause unnatural spread of point light sources, which may be more pronounced at the edges of images.
The optical design reduces the diameter of the Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens by incorporating two XA elements, one for the front element which is usually the largest on the lens. In addition, the optical design is combined with the DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) focus drive system. Overall, an exceptionally low weight of just 445 grams has been achieved. Smaller in size and weight, the Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens is ideal for compact E mount models and provides great mobility.

The circular 11-blade aperture enhances the natural bokeh effect achieved through an advanced design and manufacturing process that includes spherical aberration control. Minimum focusing distance of 0.24 meters (0.79 feet) and maximum magnification of 0.17× allow for close-up photography, which, combined with the lens' wide-angle aperture, can create a dramatic perspective by contributing a deep and lush bokeh effect.

The new and powerful DDSSM system, which has been optimized for the Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens, provides roughly three times the thrust of the previous focus drive system. Better performance of the new system DDSSM provides faster, more accurate and quieter autofocus capabilities, for outstanding performance in both still and video capture.
Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio.
In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
