Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM

The Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens is an interesting choice for owners of Sony digital mirrorless cameras with the Sony E mount. It offers a fixed focal length of 14mm and f/1.8 aperture, with a maximum aperture of f/16. With such a low aperture, it is possible to achieve a shallow depth of field and create the popular bokeh effect, i.e. background blur. The lens uses a very quiet motor, which is especially appreciated by video makers – its operation is virtually inaudible. It also features autofocus, an aperture ring and dust and moisture resistance, so it won't shy away from the toughest conditions. It is designed for both Full Frame and APS-C sensors and has no filter thread. At 460 g, it offers top optical quality in a compact design.

Impressive full frame resolution up to F1.8 aperture

Two XA (Extra Aspherical) elements in a design that meets the stringent standards of the G Master series achieve excellent resolution across the entire surface up to f/1.8 lens aperture. One Super ED (extra-low dispersion) and two ED glass elements thoroughly suppress colour tone blending to ensure excellent sharpness and clarity throughout the image, while Sony's 2nd generation anti-reflective nano-layer effectively minimizes flare and multi-focus.

Ultra-wide-angle, high-luminosity perspectives in an incredibly compact lens

Precision aspherical elements, including two XA elements, in the innovative G Master Series optical design work together with Sony's two XD linear motors to deliver exceptional overall performance in a remarkably compact lens that weighs just 460 grams. You can take the Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM ultra-wide-angle high aperture lens anywhere to transform the world with new creative perspectives.

Superbly smooth bokeh effect in ultra-wide-angle view

Thanks to the precise XA elements, 9-blade circular aperture mechanism and optimally controlled aberration, this ultra-wide-angle Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens can produce an exquisite bokeh effect on the background without inter-circle artifacts. The minimum focusing distance is just 0.25m, so you can immediately start combining a dynamic close-up perspective with background bokeh.

Fast and silent autofocus for both stills and movies

Two linear XD motors provide the thrust efficiency required to precisely position the focus groups of the Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens and achieve fast and silent autofocusing that maximizes the speed potential of E mount bodies. Quiet, low-vibration autofocus is an advantage when shooting wide-angle videos, while mobility and fast response give creators the freedom to work with subjects.

Excellent reliability in any application

In addition to the fluorine coating on the front member to repel water, oil and other contaminants, the rear member is also fluorine coated to keep its surface clean when the rear filter is changed. Dust- and moisture-resistant construction maximises reliability when using the Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM ultra-wide-angle lens in harsh outdoor conditions.
