Smart plug with power consumption measurement
The Shelly Plug PM Gen3 smart plug allows you to precisely monitor the power consumption of appliances that need to remain permanently switched on – such as a fridge, freezer, heater, or an indoor photovoltaic system. It measures voltage, current, power, and consumed energy in real time, so you can easily find out how much electricity a specific device is using, track long-term trends, and better estimate its running costs. The Shelly Plug PM Gen3 supports devices with a current of up to 16A and a power output of up to 3,680W. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allow you to monitor the plug via the Shelly Smart Control app or a web interface, without the need for a separate hub. The Shelly Plug PM Gen3 can also function as a Wi-Fi range extender and a Bluetooth gateway, and it supports MQTT, webhooks, scripting, and virtual components for more advanced automation. A multi-colour LED indicator can visually represent the current consumption level and also offers a night mode with reduced brightness.
Through the Google Home app, you'll be able to control smart light bulbs, thermostats, cameras, or speakers, all from one place, either by touch or voice. Everything you need is set up by following the on-screen instructions in the app installed on your smartphone. Google Home supports thousands of devices from various manufacturers.
Samsung SmartThings is an ecosystem that includes an app to make controlling and managing your smart home devices easier. You can use it to switch appliances on and off remotely, set up automations, or monitor the status of connected devices. The app supports not only Samsung products but also a range of other brands marked with the 'Works with SmartThings' logo.
To use the product's smart features, you need to add the device to the manufacturer's app. You can find more information about the app (name, supported OS, supported languages) and how to add the device to it in the product manual.
With the Shelly Plug PM Gen3 smart plug, you get a precise overview of how much energy important devices in your home are consuming. You can monitor the consumption of a fridge, freezer, heater, or indoor photovoltaic system in real time, making it easier to identify energy-intensive appliances. The measured data helps you to better evaluate their operation and look for ways to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Thanks to the Shelly Plug PM Gen3, you can monitor long-term data that helps you identify appliances with high or increasing consumption, allowing you to make better decisions about when and how to use them more efficiently. You can also more easily assess whether it's worth replacing an older device with a more energy-efficient model. The Shelly smart plug provides you with useful data for finding ways to optimise consumption and reduce your electricity costs.
If an appliance exceeds the set power input limit, the Shelly Plug PM Gen3 smart plug can alert you, so you can react in time to a potential overload. Proactive monitoring helps reduce the risk of overheating or potential damage to the appliance or electrical installation. The plug does not have a switching relay, so it does not switch the device off itself when the limit is exceeded – it serves to detect and warn of excessive consumption.
With the Shelly Plug PM Gen3 smart plug, you get consumption data that helps you better estimate what the running costs of individual appliances really are. Based on the measured consumption, you can evaluate, for example, the monthly running costs of a fridge, freezer, heater, or another device, and find out which appliances contribute the most to your electricity bill.
With the Shelly Smart Control app, you can conveniently manage your Shelly Plug PM Gen3 from your phone and have an overview of your energy consumption in one place. The app allows you to organise devices by individual rooms, monitor consumption, and check related expenses, making it easier to see where most of the energy in your home is being used.
The Shelly Plug PM Gen3 uses the Gen3 platform with its own powerful Shelly chip and 8MB of memory, contributing to the device's fast and efficient operation. The Gen3 generation also supports virtual components, which allow you to create virtual devices in the Shelly Smart Control app and integrate compatible products from other manufacturers into a single environment. This allows the smart plug to be part of a broader smart home system where you have consumption monitoring and other supported devices clearly in one place.
