Satellite and Digital Technology - additional info
Satellite and digital technology includes everything you need to receive digital satellite and terrestrial broadcasting. If you find the limited channel selection of terrestrial and cable TV lacking, then satellite broadcasting is probably the way to go. For that, you need the right satellite and digital technology, such as a satellite receiver, TV antenna, satellite converter, smart card, and the necessary cabling, bracket or mast. Quality satellite and digital technology is offered by such renowned manufacturers as EVOLVEO, Zircon, Philips, Amiko, Sencor, and others.
Should you choose a set-top box or a satellite receiver?
A set-top box is a device for receiving digital television channels via terrestrial DVB-T transmitters. It converts the digital television signal into a signal that a TV not equipped with a digital tuner can actually process. You hook the set-top box between your TV and antenna and it is suitable for people who don’t necessarily require a wide range of TV channels. If you want a good selection of foreign channels, choose a satellite receiver. Satellite TV gives you access to a myriad of channels of all genres, distributed by satellite broadcasting.
Amplifiers, antennas, and radios
The amplifier serves to amplify the received signal, while the splitter is designed to “split” a radio or television signal between multiple TV sets. To receive or transmit television and radio signals by air, you need a suitable antenna; it can be a parabolic dish, indoor, or an outdoor antenna. Connectors and cabling include everything for connecting a satellite receiver, set-top box, or other device to your TV. This category also includes digital radios for people who love listening to their favourite stations in the garden or on the go.
