The RICOH GR III HDF is a digital compact camera equipped with a built-in HDF (Highlight Diffusion Filter) that allows you to create images with subtle light diffusion in highlight areas. It retains the key strengths of the original model - superior image quality, precise control, exceptional mobility and adds the ability to activate the newly developed integrated filter with a single movement. In addition to classically sharp images, it also offers a variant with soft rendering and light diffusion. The filter allows you to customize the visual style according to the scene or author's intent.

Easily switch to the new built-in HDF to create softened images
The GR III HDF highlights highlights and produces soft and delicate images. Because the HDF can be switched on and off at the touch of a button, The user can effortlessly switch between two completely different visual expressions depending on the subject or creative intent, clear, sharply focused images, which are characteristic of the RICOH GR series, and softer, smoothed images taken with HDF. Creative versatility pushes the visual boundaries of snapshot photography.
Sensing unit and stabilisation, lens and autofocus
The camera features a 24.24MP APS-C CMOS sensor with an AA filter-free design for maximum sharpness and detail. The three-axis Shake Reduction system (tilt, yaw, roll) compensates for up to four exposure steps and ensures a stable image. Ultrasonic cleaning of the sensor is also available. The 26.1mm (35mm equivalent) focal length GR lens with high f/2.8 aperture incorporates a low light scattering glass element and a contoured element for maximum sharpness across the entire image area. Macro mode allows you to focus from 6 cm away. The hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection and contrast focusing for fast and accurate response. Modes such as full-field autofocus are available, Zonal, Point, object tracking, continuous AF, manual focus, a snapshot and infinity focus.
Touch screen 3" LCD monitor, image control and wireless connectivity
The 3" touchscreen LCD monitor with a resolution of approximately 1.037 million dots allows intuitive operation of functions, menu selection and image viewing. Airless design reduces glare and improves legibility when shooting outdoors. The display is protected by tempered glass. The camera offers ten basic modes for adjusting the image output, including the ability to fine-tune parameters and save them to user profiles. Dual wireless communication includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®. Use Image Sync to trigger shutter, transfer images, add GPS data and easily share content on social media.
Video, memory and power
Full HD (1920×1080) recording at 60p, 30p or 24p in MPEG4 AVC/H.264 (MOV) format is supported. The sound is handled by a built-in stereo microphone. Internal memory has a capacity of approximately 2 GB, expandable via SD, SDHC and SDXC cards with UHS-I support. Power is provided by a DB-110 rechargeable battery with a battery life of approximately 200 shots. Optionally, the K-AC166 AC adapter can be used.
