After some initial teething problems, it works well in the DisplayPort → USB-C direction when connecting the RTX 5060 to the MSI PRO MP242 E14C monitor. The key thing I realised, essentially by chance: USB PD must be enabled on the monitor. Without it, it behaves as if I hadn’t plugged the cable in at all. HDR is 8-bit, whereas via HDMI it displays 12-bit – but it’s hard to say whether there’s any difference with this particular monitor, and it’s quite possible that it has nothing to do with the cable.
DisplayPort → USB-C Full HD 144 Hz HDR (i.e. the maximum my monitor is capable of)
Does VRR (G-Sync) work?
It works significantly better than the DP-to-HDMI cable, which failed to detect the monitor correctly
