I use this NAS as a collection of photos from several mobile phones via Synology Photos, backup photo albums, media center and to sync folders to computers. The initial data migration takes a few days before the NAS indexes everything, creates previews etc., BTRFS allows you to create differential snapshots, Hyper Backup makes simple backups to cloud storage (for example Synology C2 costs 300, - per year for 100GB including versioning). If the migration and initial backups are successful, then the NAS is fast and responsive, it just takes a few days (depending on the data, for me it was mainly tens of thousands of photos and videos). At times I've had trouble understanding a few things, such as that the Shared Folder is logic from the Windows drive and not a folder. Sharing such a folder to upload photos from mobile to multiple people then requires installing the "Synology Drive Manager Console" and setting rights in multiple places. Unfortunately, you won't find any instructions for this and only the chatbot will advise you.

A cheap, ordinary naska. It works as it should (surprisingly, the performance is also good). It just enforces the admin setting - it doesn't want "admin" and requires password complexity. It's annoying in a sandbox and it doesn't make a dumb user smart anyway.

I purchased the Synology as a backup system for the home so that we could store and share data with each other in the home. The NAS has a nice design, but the backup is really noisy, so you need to have it somewhere in the room where you don't mind, which in turn is linked to the need to connect to the router with a cable. I'm missing a bit more information on how the backup works etc, for someone who doesn't know much about PCs, the setup can be a bit tricky.
