We had humidity over 60% in our older house and we couldn't get it down. During the winter months, we struggled with moisture precipitating on the windows, especially overnight (we have a floor system). Occasionally starting mould on the lining. Now we set the dehumidifier to 55% and the problem disappeared. I empty the tank morning and evening. The noise level is reasonable, but I don't think you can sleep next to it: -) When it's running, it's like a noisier fridge, so e.g. in the next room, even with the door open, it's not very disturbing. The application allows status monitoring and basic settings. Warm air comes out of the dehumidifier (heated by the waste heat from the compressor). Consumption will not be astronomical, given the power consumption and the frequency of starts during the day and night. I recommend it!
