Trezor Safe 7 (hardware bitcoin wallet) - great hardware, but the iOS app spoils the impression (I recommend with reservations) I bought 2 pieces - one for myself and one for my mom. My mom has cryptocurrency, but I don't want her to take unnecessary risks because of mistakes in the process or confusion about security. That's why I got her a hardware wallet, so she could keep her crypto safe and secure while using it in a safe way without having to deal with the technicalities. I chose the Safe 7 mainly because of its ease of use, nice design, colour touchscreen and also because it can pair wirelessly via Bluetooth with an iPhone - my mum doesn't use a computer anymore, so the mobile scenario is key for me. The hardware itself looks really great, but unfortunately it's hampered by the iOS software. ✅ Pluses - Premium workmanship and design - the device feels solid and durable, it's easy to hold and operate. - Colour touchscreen - much more user-friendly than older button models. - Bluetooth + mobile - ideal for use without a PC, which is exactly our case. - Wireless charging is a good idea. - It is also nice that it is a product developed by a Czech team (although it is questionable how much of the production actually takes place in the Czech Republic - if anyone has tracked it down, I would be happy to read it). ❌ Cons - iOS app is full of bugs: it often crashes and in practice I have to restart it repeatedly. For someone who just wants to manage their crypto safely, this is unnecessary stress. - Little information and documentation in English - most of the instructions and support are in English. It's a shame for a "Czech" product, especially if you're buying it for your parents. - The battery is not replaceable - a minus in a device for many years. - Price: in my opinion, it could be ~ CZK 1,000 lower. - The USB charging port is covered with a security holographic sticker - I understand the intention, but there is no wireless charger in the package and the sticker needs to be removed for cable charging, which may make some users uncomfortable. Summary Hardware: excellent. Mobile apps on iOS: a weak spot. As a device for safe crypt storage (especially for family), Safe 7 is a super choice, but until iOS apps become more stable and support more Czech, it's a recommendation with reservations for me. Rating: 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
